RuWCED-Cameroon, together with the Northwest Regional Delegation of Environment and Protection of Nature and other stakeholders commemorated the World Environment Day on June 5, 2021, chaired by the Regional Delegate for Environment in Bamenda. This year’s World Environment Day is commemorated under the theme, “Ecosystem Restoration.”
Some of the activities held include a round table discussion on problems facing our eco system in the Northwest Region, what stakeholders are doing, challenges faced and the way forward. We also joined the team to restore our water body by removing plastic waste from the water body around Vatican bus station in Bamenda.
In the Northwest Region, most of our resources (soil, water, forest, animal) have been degraded due to bush burning, cattle rearing, poor waste management and unsustainable use of natural resources.
