ANNOUNCEMENT OF GENERAL INTEREST
Reducing vulnerability of our women and girls: Stop the spread now!
During this time, the global community-Cameroon inclusive- is struggling to contain the spread of COVID-19, a virus that has claimed many lives globally. Mostly, our elderly and people with pre-existing medical conditions tend to succumb to this virus. Women who in our society are generally considered to be caregivers are at additional risk if at individual and collective levels, action is not taken to curb the spread of this pandemic.
In this challenge, RuWCED-Cameroon is seeking for entries in four categories.
- Which role should women/girls play in COVID-19?
- Which challenges will women/girls face if COVID-19 is not quickly contained?
- A message to our health personnel especially female.
- Stop the spread: Protect ourselves and the elderly.
Entries can be through a 3-5 minutes video OR a 500 words maximum essay OR a painting!
ONLY one entry will be accepted per applicant. All entries will be acknowledged. If after two days of submitting you don’t receipt an acknowledgment message, please send us an email or write us on our Facebook page.
Each category will have three winners;
1st prize: 20,000 FCFA
2nd prize: 15,000 FCFA
3rd prize: 10,000 FCFA
In addition to the prizes, winner entries will be posted on our website and social media platforms. Entries in English, French and pidgin would be accepted.
After the dateline, a panel of judges made up of medical experts will assess the entries and rank them. The prize selection committee will then do the final judgment based on the recommendations from the expert.
